Meet the first Daytona families in the community
Mary and Paul Turner have called Cochrane home for over 30 years, so when it came time to find their next place, they knew exactly what they were looking for. Scenic views, a quieter pace, and easy access to Calgary made Southbow Landing an easy choice. Their daughter Kylie and her husband Jeremy were also planning a move, so the family decided purchase a Daytona duplex and live side by side in one of Cochrane’s newest communities.
As the first Daytona families in the community, the Turners and Schmidths are already helping shape what life in Southbow Landing looks like. The Schmidths’ home includes over 2,000 square feet, with three bedrooms, a bonus room, and a finished legal basement suite. It was a move-in ready spec home with selections already completed by the Daytona team. “Megan and Josh picked everything. They nailed it,” said Jeremy,
Having the home finished and ready to go made the process simple. “We didn’t have to make any major customizations,” said Jeremy. “They really simplified the process for us.” For the Turners, it was the positive feedback from others that made them feel so confident in their decision. “Everyone we talked to had such good things to say about Daytona,” said Mary. “It made the whole decision feel easier.”
Now both families are settling in and making the most of their new space. With connected backyards and three young kids, they are already planning on how to use it. A new playground is being built just across the street, walking paths are coming soon, and Jeremy is getting ready to build a backyard hockey rink once winter arrives.
Southbow Landing offers more than just a great view. With future schools, green spaces, convenient highway access, and room for families to grow, it is a community built for everyday life. For the Turners and Schmidths, it already feels like home.
